What kind of lighting do mushrooms and ricorda need?

There's a few other current threads on this very topic.
Ricordia will survive under PCs and look pretty good, but IME they look best under 20k halides.
I think plain old shrooms will do fine under PCs and maybe even NO though I have never kept anything under just NO.

i use PC lighting and the general happy spot I found on yumas was 3/4ths up the tank, while floridas can hang out anywhere. i put the discomas at the very bottom because they require the lowest amount of light and something needs to go there.

I have used PC and 14000k and 20000k MH. My rics and shrooms grow best under PC, look best under 14000K and don't do squat under 20000K. My yumas turn different colors depending on where they are placed under PC or MH.
IMO all of them reproduce best under PC 50/50 (4-8wts per gallon). I have heard many say under T5 they have had problems, but might just need more aclimation time.

Do you guys ever see them adapt to different conditions over time? I put a yuma about 8 to 10 inches under 10K 250 watt de bulbs. For a few months it looked unhappy (may have been other conditions however).

Anyway the thing is now about 3.5" in diameter and covered in bubble like tentacles. It is now also moving a little and leaving a trail of clones.

Happy day for you! Congrats!

Had the 180 with only one halide to start out with 400w. The mushrooms were thriving but now spreading. Now that we have two 400w and two actinics over the tank.. they have been doing nothing but going crazy... seems they do ok under low light but really seem to thrive under a lot ;) My personal experience
