What kind of sps?

I just bought this rock covered with zoo's and some type of sps. My LFS said it's a Velvet but I can't find info with that name. He also said that when he received the rock only a small part was alive but since then it has spread a lot.

What do you guys think it is?

I really don't know why fish stores make up stupid names for corals..

Just call it what it is by its Latin name only.. That in theory its only true or real name.

Reading Eric Borneman's Aquarium Corals, Porites was my first guess, but i wasn't really sure.
