What macro lense for D50?

I have a D50.

1) This one should almost be illegal it's so inexpensive for the quality. I grabbed mine for $85 new. Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Macro.

2) I now have this one as well, which I use the most. It takes beautiful pictures, even though I'm not that good with the camera. It was about $380. Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

As well Nikon has an amazing macro, but it's a bit more. The real question is, what's your price range ;)

A few shots...

yea. that 2.8 F-stop is what i want. I like the 80 dollar price tag on the other one. I could live with the 3.5. Do you get a lot of light with the 3.5-5.6 with a high high shutter speed with it? I dont like to stop my water when I take pictures. BTW those are awsome pictures. which lense are u taking those with, im guessing the 2.8f-stop :) Nice clean pictures.
If you wanna check out some of the stuff that I have been taking visit:

I typically have to turn my pumps off regardless. I have 50-100x flow in my tanks due to SPS.

Do you take the picture with auto or manual mode?

All depends. Typically I snap a bunch in manual and auto, playing with the settings, and look to see what comes out the best.

When I take pictures I use all the settings and pick the pictues that look best. So i usually end up shoot about 50-100 pictures of the same thing.
Maybe I just wasnt made to take pictures. I am thinking its the lense though. I am currently using a AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G ED lense

I took that picture about a week ago when I had just a 65watt hood florescent. I now have two 250 watt MH's ove my 46 gallon bowfront. I will turn off all water movement and take some pictures and see what happens.

Nice pictures. What kind of ISO do you set up for your camera? I have a Sigma Macro Len 150mm.

I use a 90mm Tamron Macro personally.

There are differences between Sigma, Tamron and Nikkor but after reading reviews I got the Tamron due to price/performance.

I would be suprised if thats not ISO 200. I do not see any grainy effects on those. Those are very crisp pictures. I think im going to buy that Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Macro. There's someone on ebay selling a few for like 30-45 dollars
