What mode does the RW go to when powered on?

I've had this idea to cram a single RW-20 in the tank on the side, hook it to a 7 day a week timer, and have it turn on once every couple of days to get things kicked around a little.

The only problem is I don't know if it will work.

Whatever mode you leave it in it will come back on in that mode. I have 2 rw 20s and 2 wp 60s on hydor smart waves.
