What Photo Editing software???

Is there any good free downloads for phot editing? Or what programs do you guys use? I would like to find something under 100 bucks. What I have not I can adjust white balance in the programs and I think that is the biggest pain in the rear. Any help on picking a good eas to use to program that has plenty of functions that will grow with me as my skills grow would be great. TIA Tim

A while back Beerguy posted this thread which has links to some cool editing sites. Irfanview is free and does a good job at the basic stuff. Photoshop Elements is excellent and I think within your budget.

Thanks Greg. Do you have any experience with CS2 or any or of the Corel products? I know thoese also fall within my budget. What do you use? Or is there something you recomened with alittle higher of a budget? What about the rest you guys/gals? Thanks Tim

I use Photoshop CS2- but it's expensive at around $500. If you're a student you can get it for much cheaper. If you can get it... get it Photoshop is the number one image editing program. Photoshop Elements is still very good though and far less expensive. I've no experience with Corel software.
