Hey Susan,

I'll give you a call tomorrow. More stones (had one blasted up today...).

For FTS, I've made panaramic shots. If your camera has a landscape setting, stand in the middle of your tank, far enough back to frame it, and snap overlapping shots (4-5 shots, maybe). Not sure what camera you have, but my Canon has software that autmatically merges the pictures based ont he similarities in the overlaps. The picture is huge when you finish, so you have to play with it a little afterwards. You can get close ups, though:).

Very nice!!

I find it hard to take a full tank shot, too. I wonder how some people do it so well.

Do you and your husband take care of the tank together?

Tomoko,
Well we do take care of it together, let me elaborate, I watch everything closely and when I think something is wrong I boss him around until I think it is better. Seems to work out for now.
All kidding aside, he does all the work, I try to help.

I love the look of your new cabinet, that is what made me try to start a tread on our tank. Can't wait to see your new tank.

Gary,
Hope everything is going okay with the stone thing. We had wondered if that might be what was going on with you.

Thank you, doorlady. I have been planning my new setup for a few years. My dream finally came true when Ocea told me that they can build the stand and book cases in the style that I wanted.

My husband helps me when I ask, but he generally stays out of my way.

Do you use Liter meter for ATO? Apex seems nice. I may look for a Aqua controller Jr in the future.

Tomoko,

We use the liter meter for dosing cal. & alk.(2 part B-Ionic), we have a separate DIY top off. Hope to incorporate into Apex at some point.
We have been considering MH lighting of some kind, but everybody tells us that we will have to run a chiller and do not want to do that.

I am running two 250W MH lighting over my 120 with just fans. My corals (including a bunch of SPS's) and fish don't seem to mind the daily temperature rise to 83 - 84 degree range. This is in the west facing room where it gets rather warm in the afternoon.

I have 2 x 250W mh over my 90G. The fans in the canopy only run when the lights are on, and the tank is in a room on the west-facing wall of my house. With as hot as it has been, my temps have not yet reached 80. Unless your canopy has no real ventilation, don't consider it a fact that you'll need a chiller.

Ahh a house with insulation... My house is 82.5F now (and has been every afternoon for the past few weeks). It's putting out 59-60F, but can't catch up until around 2AM. Runs 24/7... With a well insulated house, though, you don't necessarily need a chiller. It's not a bad back up device just in case, but fans over the sump and across the surface of the tank can drop the temp several degrees (or prevent the heat up).
