Ok, so I see a lot of threads here with people having problems with this tank. I have one that has been freshwater and I'm now setting up as salt. Do you think the fans need to be replaced? Is anyone using this tank using a protein skimmer of some kind? Is the standard lighting sufficient for corals, and if so which ones? I don't want to run into tons of problems down the road, so I want to get this all straightened out now. Any opinions are welcomed.

Yourd pod should have 54w of pc lighting, 27day and 27 actinic. Your lighting should be fine for most soft corals and it should put some nice coralne on your LR. You would want to replace your main fan with mabye an 80mm or 60mm, and mabye even add another fan. I am putting two more fans into mine and replacing the first one. For some cool fans at some cooler prices check out tigerdirect.com.

To replace to the stock fan with a better 60mm is easy enough. Your fan should already have either a two or a three prong socket on it, so when ordering your fan, et one with a three or twoo pin wire harness, or just order a two or three pin adapter, or pick up an adapter at radio shack. I am going the lazy way and taking my hood over to my local computer shop and they are putting in my fans. This may be a smart way to go being as they are only charging 40 bucks to install my fans and wire everyting to a timer.
