What size pipes

What size pipes would you recommend on a mag 7 return w/4' head, I plan on putting a Y so I can put one return on each side of the tank, I have 1/2" flex reinforced plastic tubing is that ok?

1/2" to 3/4" is good for the output. If you are running it external (not recomended for the salt water) use 3/4"-1" for the intake

also as a rule of thumb,referenced from what i have read,dont go more than a half an inch bigger or smaller than the in/outlets of the pump.
