Ok, I would like to build a tank around this group of fish
1 Purple Tang
6-8 lyrtails
pr fridmani's
12 threadfin cardinal's
1 midas blennie
1 manderin
trio of Chaetodon paucifaciatus
sixline wrasse
And Some day A Regal
What size tank would this group of fish be comfortable in? Within reason of course:) LOL and in what order would you add the fish.
The tank will be set up as a reef slope, so say probably 3 ft tall by how long and wide? also if you would like to chime in what coral would go best/survive with this group. also what inverts would be safe if any.
Thanks

Well most people recommend a minimum of a 6 foot tank for a Purple Tang. I would go with a 6 foot by 3 feet and make the tank 30 inches tall. Thats actually my dream tank size hahaha.

With the regal you are going to want at least an 8 foot long tank. I am not sure but the experts can correct me, but I think the threadfin cardinals would end up only being two(pair). I would say at least a 240 gallon tank. BTW your six line wrasse will become pretty aggressive as it grows older.

I agree with the 240 gallon. Mostly for the Lyretails(that's a lot of them for a tank, they get pretty big) and having a trio of butterflies. I would skip the butteflies personally and go with something else reef safe because everything else you have on your list is reef safe.

Also, Mandarin should go in last when your tank is well establish so there are plenty of pods for it to eat.

If you wanted a trio of angels(forgot about that trio you had listed) I would stick with trio of pyramid butterflies if you want them. They are reef safe from my understanding and do well with more than one of the species.
