What skimmer?

I am looking for advice on which skimmer for my reef ready 110 i got from dizzy,i was thinking of a asm g2 how this skimmer do for me? i plan on having a few fish with soft corals,any advice is greatly appreciated,steve i forgot to add that it has a oceanic series 2 sump in it,and i would like to hide the skimmer in there.

I have the G3 and love it. If you can get the G3 to fit I would pay the few extra dollars and go that route.

my octopus 200 outperforms my G3 with much darker skim and alot more of it.
The quality is much better in the Octopus than the ASM-JMHO

I think the main reason for the better skim is the larger body and the neck has a more abrupt closing than does the asm. The part leading into the ASM neck is at more of an angle and not so much of an angle on the octopus.
There is a thread here on RC that is a mile long if you care to read up about them.
I would take a look at the NW 200 and mod it yourself, that is what I did

Which skimmer is louder??

I am torn between the ASM G2 and the Octopus NW-150 for my 90 Gallon. I can't go with the G3 or the NW200 as I only have 23 inch clearance under the tank.

Which skimmer is louder?? I like the idea of a smaller footprint in the Octopus...but ASM has been around for a while.

the octo has much less noise and works much better. The NW150 will out perform the g2 or g3 and is better built-JMHO

have you run the G5 agianst a NW200? You might be suprised!! The G3 cant hold a candle to the NW 200-I have both and there is no comparison-jmho
