What Species

Well, i woke up this morning to find my little mantis laying on his back in the middle of the tank dead, when i reached in to get him, the water was freezing cold (STUPID HEATER)

Anyway, i have his body in the freezer for the time being until i can get a good camera to take pics w/, (i'm still not sure what species he is), he's about 2.5" long, i was just wondering what area of the body i should try to focus the pictures on? i've looked through the list and couldn't find a pic that matched, thanks

you want the meral spots. They're colored spots on his dactyls. The other part you really want a picture of is his tail, spread it out so they can see the number and shapes of the pointy bits.

he came in on marshall island rock if that helps any, i'm just waiting to get a good tail shot, so just fan out the tail, and try and get a good macro?

Sorry to hear that. If you hadn't already tossed it in the freezer I would have suggested that you let the tank warm up and see what happened. I received a mantis this past winter, and it came in very cold and just barely moving. As the temp came up so did the mantis.
