Thank you for your input regarding these two questions
What temp for fowlr? Does rock need light to survive?

No... rocks do not need light to survive, neither do the bacteria who live on/in the rockwork.
If you are considering having algae or coral, well then yes you'll need some form of lighting.
As for temps, anywhere between 75-80F is fine. ( Unless you have cold water fish)
