I have several zoas in the tank and many from the same guy. During last 3 weeks I got 5 different pieces with a few polyps on the plugs. for two latest I did acclimatization as for fishes. All frags are gone. In a day all polyps on the plug getting covered with some kind of hard stuff like shell or just get black color and get stony. All other zoas in the tank are perfect. I am simply lost...:headwally:
All frags were perfect in his tank. He is now using plugs which he brought from Cuba (directly from the ocean) few weeks ago.

Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks
This is a picture of the frag on the third day in the tank

You said you acclimated them like you would for fishes right? Zoas dont need to be drip acclimated, they do very bad IMO. Just dip them and put them in the tank next time.

Are they closed up and have like black stuff all over them? If so, I'd do an iodine dip and use a q-tip to softly brush the black stuff off of them.

Do you know if the zoas are just letting go of the plug and floating away?

One of the frags floated away. 2 got stony and black and the last one the guy simple did not heal (just made it yesterday).

The biggest surprise that several old zoas around are in perfect conditions

umm your first paragraph is some of the worst advice ive ever seen... proper acclimation is part of proper husbandry.. taking a stressed out organism and just dropping it into the tank is going to cause even more stress. you may have been lucky so far, by droping your z&p into the tank after a temp acclimation and or dip but it is like playing with a loaded gun... yes i know and understand just how hardy they are... and im sure the sucess rate is not much different between your way and a drip acclimation... but im going to STRONGLY dissagree with your opinion
