What the...I didn't put that there

I've found a couple things growing in my tank that I can't identify. The first looks like some kind of macroalgae that has started to grow quite well. Fortunately, it hasn't jumped ship yet and tried to crawl onto any big pieces of LR that I can't get out of the tank if need be. Any clues are appreciated.

The second is somewhat sponge like in appearance. It is interesting looking enough, but I've noticed more than one of these and I don't want them to get out of control, especially if they are less than reef safe.

Thanks for the help.

First pic looks like Halimeda Spp. algae, slower growing than other macroalgaes and incorporateS calcium carbonate into its formations - a nice addition to your tank and it will help sequester nutrients as well and, then you may prune it, exporting it from your system. One of the most aesthetically pleasing macros. The second seems like a common moon sponge of some type. Usual hitchhiker on LR.

do u know that there is some one selling those polyps for $600 a polyp? ur look just like them

Someone may be selling them for that price, but that doesn't mean anyone is buying them. I assume you are refering to PPE which can be $40/polyp or less..

Thanks everyone. I'm relieved to know my tank is safe. As for $600 polyps, these aren't them...unless someone would like to send a check my way.
