Both i guess. I know i have aptasia, but some of it dark green and fuzzy(hair algae?) and the other is like dark purple with bubbles and there are some hard things red discs about the size of an eraser head
It is caused by one of 3 things or a combo of them. Lighting , nutrients, water flow.. Once you figure out which one it is it should clear up in time..
You should siphon out as much as possible, shorten your light time
looks like a majano anemone and Aiptasia in some of those images. the images are very bury and hard to tell. yo u can google them both are bad if thats what they are. as well as some cyno
I agree Majano on the 1st pick, very tough to get rid of myself and a friend bought LR from the same vendor and over the course of about 6 month there was a total takeover of these guys.. My friend had to shut his tank down scrub rock etc.. still had issues for years to come.. i sold off all coral and the tank went into about a 4 month dark cycle. I have not had one since (about 4-5 years ago) he still has them.. so no easy fix but they spread like crazy.. they are very good eaters and split daily.
Looking again they look like aptasia, IMO better then the Majano's.. Aptasia can be removed with kalk and a needle.. good to have a syphon available for the small bits that explode, they will attach and regrow!!
