What to do with ick-exposed cleaner shrimp?

To make a long story short, I bought two new fish and a cleaner shrimp at the same time. I put all three in my QT tank and within two days I saw ich on the two fish. Since my LFS had been pretty impressed with reports he'd heard about Herbtana I started adding that to the QT tank. Unfortunately both fish died within a week.

The cleaner shrimp is alive and well but he's in the QT tank where the ick was. I want to tear the tank apart and clean it thoroughly but what do I do with the cleaner shrimp? If I put him in one of my display tanks there's a chance I could introduce ick, right? Do I give him a fresh-water dip? do I soak him in a container of fresh salted ro/di water and then scoop him out with my hand and add to a tank?
