What to do with Whelk snails?

I started tearing down my 125 tank and I think I found the reason I would go through so many snails. I have been finding whelk snails in the live rock i'm pulling out. They are not the good kind either. I've always thought it was the mantis hitchhicker that is hidden in the base rock someplace (never seen him but hear him everyday and night).

What would be the best way to remove them from the live rock as I want to transfer this rock to a new tank i'm setting up? What should I do with the ones i'm removing? Will the LFS take them you think?

Get rid of the whelks. Doubtful the LFS will take them, what are they going to do with them? No idea how to make sure your tank is clear, never had more than one myself.
