what to keep in my tank

i have 30gal reef tank and right now just two 1inch clowns and a two long tang. i want it to be a coral tank not just fish and live rock. my question is what's a good balance of fish and coral, because my tank is only a 30gal, i really want sps corals and some other hard to keep types, should i keep the fish count low so as not to effect the water quality changing quickly and harming the corals, what is the best balance for this size tank.

(my lighting is a 250watt MH 14k pendant)(and lots of water flow)

You might get caught by the .:hammer: for a Tang in that small of a Tank :lolspin: lol. I'm new here so I don't know much about SPS but the tangs probally gonna have to go.
