just as the subject state i would like to know what you breeders feed your banggaii cardinals pair would to know if you fed the same thing the whole time before breeding/ while the male holding

I feed a variety of foods and feed extra heavily pre-spawn. I lean toward PE mysis as a staple and they seem to love cyclop-eeze, but they also eat daphnia, brine, Omega Brine, baby brine, Formula 1, 2, VHP, Beef heart, shrimp, and anything else I can throw at them. Same as my clowns.

Agree. I feed a total of 13 different frozen "cubed" foods:

HUFA - enriched Brine, Brine w/ Spirulina, Plankton, Beefheart, Squid, Tubifex, Bloodworms, Mysis, Emerald Entree, Angel Formula, Reef Plankton, Scallops, Mussels

I have never fed live foods to my mated pair. And they don't care for flaked or pelleted foods, either.

I also have found that after a successful brood if you seperate the male from the female for a few weeks and let him "recuperate" from not eating for the past month then you will get a larger brood the next time...

thanks that helped a lot i got a pair from my lfs that the male have been holding eggs a few times i went in there but they are in a 300gal reef DT and the babies was being ate by tank mates so i asked could i buy them and at the time the store is relocating so they sold them to me

another ?
would it be a good ideal to separate the male for a week or two he is fat

Agree with the previous, wide variety of little bit of everything. Got more fish food in the house than human food! fwiw, my first pair spawned within their first week in my tank, only being fed mysis cubes once a day.

also newly hatch brine how many days can u feed a batch of newly hatched brine before they are to big for newly hatched baby banggaii
