What's a good all round medication

I am still pretty new to marine fish and was wondering what a good medication was to keep on hand. I want something that if I'm worried I can just dose until I can get a better more specialised medication.

For freshwater use we keep melafix on hand. I know they make a marine version but I was wondering if there was something better and what other people use
