Whats a typical set up?

Ever since i found the small octo in my nano i have been wondering what it takes to set up a escape proof octo tank... Do you guys have any pictures of your set ups? And list of equipment/ things you did or use to make it octoproof? Size tank?

Check out the articles section on tonmo.com as well as the member journals. You'll find that you're best friend will likely be Duct tape and netting.

No duct tape and netting, the tape would have to be replaced over and over and make your tank all sticky. I made mine out of lexon. It fits very tight, I have difficulty prying it up there is no way my O. briareus is getting out. I have a opening in the center with a screw down lid. We put supports on the top to keep it form warping. It's been working wonderfully for months. Here are a couple of shots.

My tank is an Oceanic 50, used to be a reef. I have an open chamber in the back w/Tunze skimmer and fuge. I removed my 250 HQI and replaced it with a leftover cadlight fixture w/T5's. I have a small fixture from a pico I dismantled with a red lens that is on when lights go off. So far 4 months with my current octopus and all is going wonderfully.

i was wondering how do you keep that top securely attached to the tank? i see nothing holding it down other than the light

It fits inside the lip very tightly. I need to pull with 2 hands to pop it off. Believe me, Ollie is strong but not that strong.
