What's everyone running in their Phosban Reactors?

I didn't want to just toss the rest of my phosguard as I had a giant tub but I'm getting close to needing to switch. A couple things. What's the biggest bang for the buck. Secondly, my phosphates have come UP since I changed out my reactor but I think I had it too full. So, I just took out about a 1/4-1/3 of it. However, when I kicked it back in, it all came to the top. I'm guessing I didn't have the pad pushed down. Does this affect it? I know everyone always says to tune it so it looks as though it's simmering but it can't do that if it's pushed to the top. Thoughts? Group buys? I will be going through mark

IM just running regular phosban in there now, but I just ordered the foster and smith pohsban + zeolite + carbon mix that they have and Im gonna try that sometime

carbon, and switch back and forth from seachem phosguard to phosban. Gonna get new ro/di unit and make the old one into a 3 way filter system for carbon, phosban, and some other kind of filter media.

rowaphos in one and black diamond carbon in the other.

I normally have phosban, but didn't want to go driving around to find it available so I bought rowaphos at the nearest lfs.

I have 2. One I run carbon in and the other phosguard because I had it but it leaches back in so need to switch I think??? Do I, If I change it frequently, would this maybe work? The other stuff is pricey but changing phosguard more frequently would still be less expensive.

if it is being pushed to the top then your sponge must be clogged or the phosban is clumped. Shake it up let it settle down and slowly adjust he flow until you see it simmer...

Let me know when you get ready to order. I think I will need a change soon...

At the frag swap I won some from bulkreefsupply that they donated. I went online and checked them out and the prices are way cheap. From appearance, it is real similar in size to phosban but CHEAP! If not ordering from them I'd look at phosarHC by Warner marine. It's supposed to tolerate high flow much better due to size.

Oh, I also have tried the drsfostersmith stuff which was cheaper than the phosban and worked as well. Looked the same as well. That phosarHC really has me tempted to try.
