What's going on with my hermits??

Hi again guys!
Something really REALLY weird is happening in my tank.
I have roughly an equal number of scarlett legged and blue legged hermit crabs in my tank. About ten total.
This afternoon I found a set of scarlett legs, with NO BODY on the bottom of my tank (the sand bed) for the FOURTH time in about two weeks. :worried:
Looking around to see if there is any culprit - my emeralds are well fed ( I feed them nori every other day) they seem to be good citizens, and my Apitasia eater pretty much ignores my inverts and I see NO empty shells.
I notice this is happening to ONLY the scarlett legged ones.
What could be going on??
My sea urchins, snails and feather dusters are all doing fine.
ANY insight would be appreciated!

Hi! Jason! I'm thinking that too since only the legs are seen and left behind, NOT that round opaque body attached to them.
Like I said, my emeralds Brutus and Tiberius are well fed. I'm hoping they're not having a midnight snack on the side!!
My other fish ( Aiptasia Eater, clowns, a scopas tang, Pakistani butterfly, wrasse, etc) aren't into the hermit tasing thing!
THANKS SO MUCH!

Its a molt, yes.

Sometimes you'll see a bit of body, other times its just that. More often then not for me I find legs all over the place because the molts get torn up.

Nothing to worry about! They do it every so often.

That explains it. Thanks!
