What's hanging on your walls?

Just curious to see if anyone here hangs any photos that they take on their walls? If so, i wanted to see how you guys display it. What kind of frames, any specific lighting, what order (if you group frames together), what subjects/theme, etc.

I have a bunch of black & white photos from our honeymoon in Tahiti hanging on our walls in the living room but that's it. I want to hang some color photos but part of me thinks that color photos don't accent the room as they tend to stick out like a sore thumb on the wall, so i am looking for some inspiration.

Tagging along, I just have non-photographic pictures of fishing trips on my wall right now. I should be moving soon and will participate after that! :)

I just moved so to a new place and only threw up a few pics temporarily. I plan on getting some big ones made up soon though. Here is a shot from the office though with two Slot Canyon pics I took. You can see a relection of the Grizzly bear photo in the other room too.

I have three that are being printed from SmugMug right now that will be hanging in my bedroom. I plan to hang a few of my other landscape shots up in my living room once I get done repainting/remodeling.

It's always been my intention to have macro shots of my tank/corals/fish on the walls throughout my house... I love the tropical feeling that they have with the bright colors.

I am a 9 month reef newbie here guys, but I have found great deals on frames at Micheals. The matted are my fave. I have several landscape pics that I have captured, framed and hung, but I am very looking forward to getting some up of my tank. Hope the michels tip helps you mrsandman.

Mr Sandman - we didn't have a lot of cash so I actually built the frames from scratch. Jjust routered the edges and painted them. I did splurge and get the reflection-free glass (would never frame anything without that glass again - it makes a HUGE difference) and cut the mats myself. You can just barely make out the 20x30 Aurora print on the wall around the corner.

I have abunch of images in my house. Truth be told though I probably have a lot more at other peoples houses and offices than mine. We now have a digital frame at the office and it scrolls thru tons of images. I wish it was bigger but it is pretty cool (I think it's 11x14).

Dang Marc, you into reefing or something??????

:lmao:

Those are the type of frames I'm using. The way we've beem re-doing our livingroom they work out great. Most of the furniture is the modern matte black and those frames just tended to match. The pics I'm using are also only B&W. And yes Louis, I agree about the glass. Wouldn't do a pic without it.

While I do cut my own mattes for special projects, for most of my stuff I buy pre-cut in bulk. If I buy 25 at a time I can get matte, foam backing and the cello envelope for about $6 per photo.

For frames I just wait until Aaron Brothers has their $0.01 sale and buy a bunch. I throw away their backing and use my own stuff.

Yeah, those are some of my favorite pictures and thus got them printed professionally. Then I found a vendor on Ebay that sold me all of my frames at once, shipped for a very good total. I think the company name on there is "The Rusty Roof".
