what's happening to my frogspawn?

OK - so over the last week or so my frogspawn has developed this bubble on one of the arms and part of the polyp is not fully expanded. I included both a flash and non-flash picture. As you can see, part of it looks fine but one arm has this odd thing going on.

That head is splitting. It's a good thing.

It's split a lot since I got it a year or so ago - I've never noticed this before...

Sometimes they get the bubble, sometimes not...not really sure why it happens.

I've seen this numerous times in my tank and it always has a happy ending (assuming you like more frogspawn).

haha same thing is happening to my hammer, i was thinking about posting a question but its already been done and answered! thanks haha but my bubble is going away and i can start to see a new head clearly formed. love it.

Just an update...the bubble is getting smaller but the whole arm of the frogspawn is still shrunken up. I hope it perks up soon - it's kinda freakin' me out.

Well, the frogspawn has lost the bubble and it appears the head has split. The whole thing still looks a little sub-par, but it's OK. I wonder how long it will take to look good again.
