What's nibbling on serpent's tentacles?

Any TBS folk have this happen? I have a 75g tank w/ about 100lbs of rock in there from TBS (more in the sump), so I'm sure there are critters I haven't seen yet. I have two serpent stars -- one small grey hitchhiker and a larger striped "official CUC" member.

The small grey one has tentacles that are each maybe 5" long. A few days ago I noticed that the tips of two of them are gone! Something ate about 1/4" off of them. This starfish is also more active than the other, and gets all around the tank. Not sure if that's because he's being harassed or if that's just his style. Both serpents are crazy at feeding time and will happily take pieces of frozen food from a turkey baster, just like the peppermint shrimp (yeah, I'm target feeding my CUC)!

Tank inhabitants that I know about:
royal gramma
other serpent, a brittle star, and a small climb all over the glass star "traditional" looking starfish
2 peppermint shrimp
hermit crabs, snails or all sorts, cucumbers
3 rock anemones

several tiny gorilla crabs. I've caught and sumped a ton of crabs, including a bunch of gorillas and at least one larger rock crab. I've found where at least a few more live in the DT but they're small now, and I'm biding my time before I remove them.

pistol shrimp? something in my DT clicks. The pistol shrimps in my sump also click. When initially examining the rocks I pulled out 2 large pistol shrimp and 2 really small ones (that are just as noisy as the large ones). There might still be large ones in the DT, but it's more likely they're the small ones. There's also (always?) the possibility of a mantis in the DT, but I haven't seen signs of one, and we examined the rocks pretty carefully when they got here.

Any thoughts about what might be messing with my serpent?

Probably nothing..they loose bits...naturally, and regrow....it would be the other way around usually...serpents are the predators....tell your crabs to watch out! LOL
