What's on my Tang?

If you know what the fuzzy white spots (only on the fins) are, please let me know a recommended treatment...Thanks!

It's had the spots for about a week and doesn't seem to be getting better or worse...had the fish for 2 weeks after a 2 week hold at the LFS with no problems.

looks like lymphocystis to me. it is caused by a virus and there is no cure. the clumps will go away on there own, but any time the fish is stressed out they will return. just keep the fish eating well to boost it's immune system and keep your water clean.

I really hope you're right...I'll leave him alone right now and try to feed well.

I second lympho, but would keep a close eye on the fish. The growths look 'fuzzier' than lympho usually appears, but it could just be the photos.

+3 on the Lymphocytis - the species is prone to develop it, and *most* of the lesions are where you would expect to see them. The only caveat I would add is that it is not impossible for a fish to develop multiple issues, so as Gwynhidwy said, it bears watching. Do NOT treat the fish for Lymphocystis, that always causes more harm than good.
