What's the difference?

Hello all!

I am interested in joining MARS, but I am wondering what is the difference between a single and family memebership? Any info is appreciated, thank you!

No difference. ---We don't have family membership. Some families buy multiple memberships.

We'd love to have you as part of our club.

Actually - there is a family membership. With a family membership - you will get multiple membership card. However, with a family membership, your voting and frag swap right is similar to a single membership. That is - you get only one vote per family and only one person get to pick corals at the frag swap.

As fragmented stated, some families have multiple memberships. For example, I have a MARS membership and Sierra (my little girl) has her own membership. She wanted her own membership so that during a frag swap, she can pick corals for her tank. (BTW Marc - Sierra was very excited when she got her own mail from MARS.)

MARS is a great club with awesome members. Our meetings are usually on the 3rd Friday of each month (except for April because of the Western Marine Conference). We usually have great speakers, and it's a good way to network with fellow reefers. Feel free to come to our meetings and join our club.

BTW - not trying to discourage you from joining MARS - but there is a local club closer to you. It's Northern Valley Reefer (NVR). It's much smaller than MARS - but they have some awesome members. I believe they meet every other month. The next meeting is April 29th.

You can always do what I do and join both clubs. :D

Thanks for the info, guys! Minh, I appreciate the link, but your meeting days and times fit my schedule better than NVR's. Plus I work in Elk Grove, so driving up to Folsom isn't a big deal for me.
Thanks again for the great info.
