Wrasse junkie
Greetings fellow reefers I have a question regarding wrasses, my favorite subject! The species in question is the Kwazulu Fairy,Cirrhilabrus sp Kwazulu. I know they are in the rubriventralis complex and know they are notorious for aggression. SO Id like some info from people who have kept this species before and can give me insight as to what it is like. Thank you all !

Mine just transitioned to a male and it has been fine to date. I think some of this is due to the fact that the rubrisquamis, flame and others are still much bigger than it is. Not my favorite Cirrhilabrus, but I did get it for $8 as a "misc wrasse" so...

I have got a true kwazulu ( was collected at 40m kwazulu natal )
It shears a tank with a pair of earlei
There are no aggression

The thing is kwazulu natal is a province of south africa fish exporting is illegal so the chances to get a true one is almost zero
I only know of 2 in South African tanks

Mine must have been on vacation... Lol. Yuri: u saw the pic months ago when still a female. Now mine actually has been keeping to a black/red color since it started transitioning...no blue spots yet. I'll try for a pic and post.

I have a true one from Africa, cost me a few bucks. I have it with a pair of japanese lunate and hooded fairies. It has been in the initial male phase since i got him 6 months ago. The only aggression is towards the females of the other pairs. More of a male dominance thing than any thing else. It doesnt bother the mystery wrasse the same size or the other males.
