Whats wrong with my Frog/Hammer Hybrid?

We have a Hammer/Frogspawn hybrid that has been doing EXTREMELY well and last night I saw something floating around the tank ... it was a purple tip ... inflated ... as if it had been pinched off and sealed!

Get home from work tonite and one of the 3 heads is shrunken and somewhat deflated.

I will get a pic later tonite but was wonder if anyone had a clue as to what was happening.

I've seen this happen for a few different reasons in my tank, once because a few heads weren't getting any light and again when it was trying to attack another coral.

Nope its by itself in the tank with plenty of light

i have a frogspawn/hammer EXACTLY like yours lol even same amount of heads and it did that once before when it was first put it the tank but hasnt since

I had one doing it to attack corals and it took out my dendro. Still haven't been able to find a nice affordable replacement dendro but needless to say the frogspawn colony is out of thre

Hate to tell you but that is not some kind of hybrid. It is a Euphyllia Cristata. Otherwise known as a Grape Coral.

Cool, thanks ... when I first got this one I had posted a ID thread and everyone was saying hybrid!
