This week I noticed my radioactive dragons eyes arent looking so good. They used to be so robust and now they are looking sickly. I have many other zoas in this tank that ae fine. Even mor wierd is that the Eagle eyes on he same rock are perfectly healthy. Here is a before and now pic of them. Please Help.

How long have they been looking like this? Looks like they have been irritated, but if they have been looking like this for a while, you might want to take a really close look at them- there might be something constantly irritating them.

i dont think its nudis, u might want to check for small snails or starfish on the base or so. they maybe irritating it, u can also check to see if theres any paramter swings.

i'll see if anything is iritating them. the only thing really i've seen is the ocassional blue leg hermit stumble onto them. i'll give them a good check tonight and report back.

well, I pulled out the rock with the zoas on it. went over and in (hollow rock). nothing was found to be the cause of this. any ideas?

they have been in this tank 1.5 yrs. nothing has changed in the tank in a yr and a half. they have been like this for about 6 days now.

well.... sometimes corals close for no reason, (this may or maynot be the case) but sometimes it happens. I've had corals that were healthy and then all of a sudden closed fully or partially for a week or more, and then opened up like nothing ever happened.

just something to think about..

hmmm....I guess if thats the case only time will tell.

looks like there is definitely some pest bothering them. i had neon green zoas and they looked like that. i couldnt see any nudis or anything else. then i found a nudi one day that was the exact color of the zoas (neon yellow/green). it was incredibly pretty. needless to say i flushed him down the toilet and my zoas have looked great ever since

Tank hasnt changed in over a year. water perams are as they've been for years. why all of a suden would a nudy be the issue if it had no way to be introduced to the tank? can they hibernate? why would it only seek out these zoas and no others even leaving the eagle eyes on the same rock alone?

i was dealing with the same problem. i dipped in iodine and didnt see anything off of them. moved them from my 90 to my nano, and they started doing better. was just looking at them and pulled of 7 nudis and 2 strings of eggs. worst part is i have a 6line and yellow coris in the 90 and the nudi's still got my fire and ice's, ppe, rpe's, radioactive dragon eyes, blue tubbs, yellow polyps and gpe's. good luck, looks like i have a battle ahead of me...

well I havent lost a zoa in 2 weeks now. It wasnt nudis. I staked out the tank overnight a few weeks ago a couple times. If you look at my inital pic, youll see there were also eagle eyes on the rock. well, what ever had afflicted them is over and all that is left on the rock are all the eagle eyes. I didnt lose a single one. Even more wierd is that there are aboul 10-15 dragons eyes that made it. they are all in the same spot on the rock(on the extreme left in the pic.) The only thing i ever saw on them were pods while this was happining. It wasnt an issue with the pods as all I noticed them doing was to rid the ones that were already in seriously bad shape, cleaning up if you want to call it that. Personally I think it was some un id'd illness that affects zoas. Why else would only a certain type of zoa be targeted?
