I'm having color/tissue recession/ polyp extension problems with a few encrusting monti frags. The base of them has seemed to lose its color and polyp extension is not very good. Here are the usual tank details

Alk: 8
Ca: 480
Mg: 1360
pH: 8.1-8.4
Temp 78-79.5
All measurement done with Hanna or Salifert kits.

Tank is 144 half circle lit by two Reefbreeders Photon 16, 1 250w Radium, two kessil 360we. GHL Profilux III and GHL dosers for alk, Ca, and mg. medium fish bio load and all other parameters are fine. Aquavitro Salinity salt used for weekly water change of 30 gallons. I skim wet and run a fuge. All other sps are perfect. Any ideas? I'm thinking of dosing some amino acids or iodine.

are you sure it isn't a nudibranch outbreak. New frags? The nudis will hide out backside and under the frag where it meets the plug. They will attack edge tissue and can go unnoticed for some time before you know whats happening. take a very close look at those frags paying attention to the area where they meet plug Look for little tiny white fuzzy nudibranchs and their egg clusters.
