Hi everyone I feed my lps during lights off when their tentacles are fully extended. When do you guys feed your?? Lights on or lights off.

lights off... I guess you could feed ur LPS is they extend their feeding tentacles during the day, a couple of mine do but i dont know what triggers the behavior since its not predictable... Thats why i feed at night, everyone is extended so i feed all of them at the same time

Feed my acans and chalice's at night about an hour after the lights turn off and frogspawns torches etc anytime when the lights are on but mostly just before lights out.

I feed mine every saturday morning when the lights are off. I do this so the fish don't steal their food as they do when lights are on (most of our LPS readily accept food with lights on but get robbed). I still have to bribe the cleaner shrimp with a piece of krill or else he will steal anyway. Feeding krill to 4 scoly's and 3 plate corals this way. I also use a baster to feed brine shrimp to trumpet & candy cane corals (which do not tend to accept food with lights on).

I feed mine in the day, I just put a little food ( like 1 myasis) on them and the tentacles come out.

I feed together with the fish. Put food in for fish and wait maybe 5-10 mts. They should have their sweepers out and if they don't just feed them, trust me they will eat it. Unless of course you got a problem with them getting the food stolen, then I would definetely feed at night. I used to have problems with my peppermint shrimps, they gone now.

I feed them during the day. They have all "learned" that when the flow stops, they're going to get some food. I turn the flow off about 5 minutes ahead of feeding and they all open up. My 2 Sun Coral colonies do the same thing. Only fish I have to worry about staling food from them is my McCosker's Flasher Wrasse. He will be leaving soon when I upgrade though.

Same here in regards to feeding...I don't have a wrasse, but I do have B&W clown fish that are food stealing hooligans.

Man I have that same problem with my scarlet shrimps too, I want to pull them out of my reef but their so colorful!!

I put a clear glass sconce over my LPS and then use a tube to sprinkle food on them. Keeps the flow off them and all the crabs, shrimp and fish from stealing. A bit more work but i really only feed during the day.
