When to admit defeat--leather seems to be dying

Yeah I would frag what I could. Just cut off some branches and wedge them in some rock and discard the main stem.

get a few small pieces of rock, some toothpics and rubberbands. Cut the healthier looking pieces you want to salvage and run a toothpic horizontally through the base just above where you made the cut. Then while holding it against the rock, wrap the rubber band around the rock and attach it to the exposed toothpic ends sticking out on both sides. Place them in the sand in a low flow area with moderate light and they should re-attach to the rock in a few days. After they attach you can remove the toothpic and rubberband.

Thank you for all of the info about fragging--am sure you've written that more than a few times! I just couldn't bring myself to doing for a bit, and today when I went to pick up the leather on its rock or old skeleton, it wouldn't move!

It seems that it's attached to the live rock. And I think both branches have attached themselves separately. I'll get pics later and post. Very interesting.

I think it's happier where it is--I put it up higher--more light and more flow. Color is becoming more pinkish/brown at the tips.

So, thank you all--I was almost about to give up on it. :celeb3:
