When to harvest Chaeto?

I added a basement sump last month, which included approximately 25 refugium. I am growing Chaeto in there, and it seems to be thriving. I turn it and break it up every couple of days, and man is that stuff dark green!

I understand that Chaeto will soak up nutrients, and then you harvest it out.

My question is: how do you know when to harvest Chaeto? I have some that is dark green, and some that light/neon green. I it growing very quickly, so I believe that I am about ready to start removing some. Thanks!!

For the most part if it's sucking out nutrients and growing, it will continue and fill whatever container it's in. Personally, I start ripping it out when it gets to 75% of my space or so to ensure flow is still adequate.
