Where Could My Sea Hare Have Possibly Gone?

This is the second time in a few days that my sea hare has disappeared. Of course, the first time it was on the LR and I just didn't see it, but this time, it's really gone.

I have a 40 gallon tank with an overflow, which I've already checked. I have NO idea where the sea hare went. Any advice on where I can find it? I've looked everywhere and I don't want to have to tear down my LR just to make sure it's still alive.

What kind of sea hare is it? Some burrow in the sand, some hide in rocks, etc.

It's a dolabella auricularia.

I found him buried in the sand, I didn't know that they did that. I feel super retarded now, but I'm glad it's not missing or dead

Scientists didn't know they did that either until they saw them do it in tanks. They still don't know if it's something they do in the wild or not.

Interesting. I thought that sea hares were super ugly until I actually got to looking at one, and now I love them. I'm very glad that I have one, and even more glad it's not lost in the abyss somewhere.

Now I know not to freak out when I can't find him next, lol. Even though I probably will anyway.
