Where did my Yellow Wrasse go?

I haven't seen my yellow wrasse since I put it in the tank. It's been a few days and I haven't gotten a glimpse. I read one article that says they will bury themeselves in the sand. I'm taking that as they are shy. Are these really that shy?

We had a yellow coris wrasse stay hidden in a retail tank until we were removing all the sand to reseal the tank. It had to have been hiding for over a month, only coming out in total darkness.

Was it eating and acting ok in qt or at the store? If so, I bet it's just getting used to things.

Halichoeres and Coris wrasses sleep in the sand, and you won't find them if they don't want to be found.

Once acclimated, it will always be cruising around in the open.

I actually just got a yellow Coris wrasse last week too and fully expected him to go missing for a few days but he never did, he's been out and active. It's probably just the fish's personality though and I wouldn't be worried until about a week of a fish missing.

No worries, he is their!
If it makes you feel better, test for Ammonia, if it hasn't spiked, he is there...

Have you checked the floor? That's usually where i find my six lines.
