Where do you buy salt?

I get mine from drsfoster and smith on line
But I use TMP reef salt not sold local
and when it is its way overpriced :(

petsmart will honor the online coupon for buckets of salt. Just call and make sure they have it in stock.

hell thats a deal I didnt know petsmart would do that, apparently they dont know how much shipping costs.
Damn I wish they sold TM I'd be a huge petsmart fan!

If you print out the sheet from there site, Petsmart will honor the price. Thats how I got my heater, it was 31.99 in the store, but online it was in the low 20 range. Whenever I go there I always print out the sheet for what I'm looking for, just in case the online price is cheaper. I've save a few bucks, well worth the ink.

I get Instant Ocean at Fishy Business for $37.99. Its the only salt I use, and it seems to be very stable when I have tested it.

I was up in Denver yesterday and saw that Keys sells TMP. I forgot the price though. He also sells the Seachem Reef Salt. I have been wanting to try that.

And, I believe those are the buckets with the spin-on lids. Very useful if you have to transport water.

I was running low, so I picked up one yesterday at Petsmart for $31.99 plus $2.37 tax ($34.96 total). Their normal in-store price is $48.99! How ridiculous, considering the normal LFS price is under $40. They DO want to see the Internet ad as proof though. It turns out they don't have access to the Net in the store.

I'd prefer to have bought it from a LFS vs. a chain store, but I don't think anyone could match it at that price and break even. I still get my livestock at the neighborhood LFSs though.

I was checking with fosters & smith, they have tropic marine pro for $64.99 and Regular TM for $57.99 if the order is over $240 the shipping is only $15.99 so if say a few guys put an order in for 4 buckets thats only $61.98 a bucket for 200 gal. mix.
I see a lot of people use IO, but if you want to step up to a better quality "reef" salt i think ordering from them is really a great deal. Note: your getting 40 more gallons out of the TM too also.
If you print the coupon, drive down to petsmart and get the "deal" like Crit pointed out. its 21¢ per gallon for IO. If you dont print it out and pay regular retail its actually more expensive than having Tropic Marin delivered to your door! I would have never thought.
If you have the TM delivered to your door its 31¢ per gallon. Just thought I'd try a little math and see what the difference really is.

I'm not trying to make this a IO versus TM debate (why bother) just throwing a little comparison out there

yeah it would, I know i asked scott and he said to buy direct he'd have to get a pallet. I dont know how many people would want to switch and I think thats why nobody wants to order than much.
