I have the new tank and I wonder where the best place to get drill on the glass tank.
I live in costa mesa.
thank you

first think you need to find out is if your tank is tempered or not.. if it is you cant drill it and you will need a hob...

and you cant tell by looking at it... you need to make phone calls and find out....

drill is the best way, I hate the overflow box, the break of siphon the sucking thw water...just hated.

hang-on- refug, go wih CPR type.

the tank just bought it brand new from fish and coral center in costa mesa, so I think it glass if I want to drill from the side. I'm not sure about the bottom.

call them and ask them if the tank is tempered... if they say no its not than you can drill it.. if they that is is you need to get a HOB overflow.. there are several choices there... but make the call first...

We're always here to help our customers - and if gunnwong wants help from us, he can give us a call or stop by.

When I help someone with a tank I always ask how they want to set it up. Many times if a customer just buys a tank on the spot it's because they want it immediately (as opposed to custom ordering one). Other reasons include: Not wanting a sump setup at that moment (as many reefers can tell you, sumps are not the 'only' way to go - although sumps are my personal favorite) or trying to save by drilling holes or painting the back themselves.

A tank purchase is a major decision and we go OUT OF OUR WAY to help customers get involved in a new tank. It's just good business sense.

In any case, all of our customers have our support as long as they ask for it. I've already PM'd gunnwong a couple of times offering assistance as I chose not to reply directly in the forum.
