I would recommend finding a reef club nearby, hopefully somebody will have a bta that split recently. That way you can get a healthy anemone without the undue stress of shipping.
I agree. Get one local if possible. I got one each shipped from Dr. Mac and Chad at Reef Science. Both survived the trip just fine, but I'm not that far from either of them. Less time for FEDEX or UPS to play volleyball with them.
I purchased a RBTA online from ebay about two years ago. The thing was shipped in about a half inch of water and looked horrible upon arrival. Initially I was quite concerned. The company that I bought from said the anemone would be "shriveled" and that they intentionally shipped in very little water. Their acclimation procedure was straight forward and direct and two years later I still have the beautiful anemone. It has even split once for me. That being said I would look local first. Others have mentioned a local reef club and that is where I would check first.
