Best reason for octopets is because they are captive bred and young so you are not distrubing wild populations and you can expect maximum lifespan

I like www.fishsupply.com. They carry captive breed bimacs and are excellent at shipping and their customer service is one of the best. I have bought almost every octopus and mantis shrimp I have ever kept from there and never did I have any problems wiith the shipping. Just ask for Jack and tell him you want a captive breed bimac.
He aslo sells Ghost shrimp fairly cheep and you can get a dozen or so with your octo so you have some live food handy until you can ween him on dead or frozen food. The ghost shrimp are fresh water species so they need to be kept in a fresh water bucket till they are ready to be fed.
