Which lense?

I am looking for a new lense for my canon digital rebel.......which is better? The tamron lense or the sigma lense? Any of you guys use either of these please let me know what you think. THanks

have you considered canon lenses? if its for tank shots, everybody worth talking to recomends the canon macro lenses.

I have the 6.3 mp canon rebel, whatever that one is. I have found a canon lense on ebay but it doesn't have the macro settings that the other two have, but it is a good price for canon though. I have a seperate macro lense that I have attached to the lenses I currently own. It works pretty well, I just want a bigger lense...........I guess so that I can take pics of my tank plus use for regular portraits and stuff of the family. I have found all three lenses that are under 150 but the canon one is used.....please help me decide, thanks.

If you could be specific about the exact lenses you're talking about it'd be easier to say yay or nay. If you can, list the focal length (50mm, 100mm, 80-200mm, for examples) and the maximum aperture. Most lenses are listed like this one, the most popular for Canon cameras: "EF 100mm f2.8 Macro". Without all that info it's impossible to tell you how good or bad a lens is.

I got the EF 100 and its a great lens, but your not going to get it for $150.
