Which rabbitfish

How about a magnificent foxface :D

I have one along side a yellow tang and powder blue as well as other smaller fish and they all get on fine.

I love these 2 and they get along with all the other fishes. They been together for 15 months now. They eat nori and flakes & pellets. I've a video of them eating flakes & pellets posted here somewhere in a angel thread.

I thought they didn't get along with others of their kind?

Two barred rabbitfish ate my xenia. I mean, completely devasted my xenia! I caught him and traded him in.

I have a Doliatus and it has been a very hardy fish. About a year ago he started losing weight and after several rounds of medicated foods I think he is on the road to recovery, this fish was on the ropes for a while but just wouldn't die, a very tough fish. There isn't much difference between the Doli's and the virgatus other than some subtle color variations, I think the Doli's are a little more colorful.

My personal fave is the Fiji foxface, a beautiful fish and the least shy species in the genus that I have kept.

Thanks for the help. I have been doubting them because of the venomous spines. Hate to get stung by one but am wanting a doliatus really bad. He will be in a sps dominant tank and hoping he will take the bubble algae out.

My Doli wont touch it, you may have better luck but this the one algae type it wont touch. I wouldn't worry about the spines, I have never been stuck despite the fact that both my rabbits are all over the algae clip and my hand as I put the nori in.

S doliatus, mine was pretty peaceful, kept him with two tangs, a Mimic and a Powder Blue. The rabbitfish used to occasionally erect his fins and try to show the tangs how good he was but the tangs mostly ignored him. When his posing got too much the tangs would give him a quick rough up and he would go quiet for a few weeks.
