Which salt?

I am wanting a middle of the rode salt not the best but deffinately not the cheapest. Something that doesn't need a whole lot of calcium or buffers for that matter a good reef salt and a fairly large bucket. Any suggestions

I've had a lot of success with reef crystals. Obviously that means I need to change. Thinking about switching to Fritz's RPM, but haven't made the change yet.

Since I only have a few pcs of LPS and soft corals in my tank i am going to try out the FritzPRO R.P.M. Salt! i will report back after a few weeks.

Right now leaning towards Red Sea but still researching

Don't buy Red Sea stuff. The products are produced in a country where human rights are completely ignored. You may as well buy blood diamonds.

I have had bad luck with instant ocean but I keep going back to it. The last batch I bought had P04 issues. I had to toss 5 buckets. If you buy it test it.

The most solid salts I have used over the last 15 years are Reef Crystals and Coalife. I have yet to come across an issue with either.

I'll use anything, never have seen much of a difference with any salt and I've usd them all at one time or other. I do like Instant Ocean the best because it's been around forever, is very affordable and comes four 50 gallon bags which is nice for filling a 44 gallon Brute trash can for perfect 1.027 salt water. The big bags like Fritz cause settling and when using partial batches from the big bag, I've noticed fluctuations in calcium, magnesium and alkalinity. Fritz takes forever to dissolve as well.

I don't care for vitamins in my salt either, they stain my beautiful holding tank:(

I usually go with whatever is cheapest. Lately it's been Kent reef salt or instant ocean. Seems to go back and forth for either of their 200g boxes.

I have had great luck with Red Sea. Started with the black bucket and switched to the blue, great growth and great color.
