which skimmer and why?

Okay what skimer setting cost momentarily aside for 180 fish only with live rock well cured over one year either octopus, aquaeuro usa, or euroreef what size limited by 23 inches of cabinet height all glass stand modern series. Please respond Thanks.

i wouldn't use any of those skimmer. The height is going to be a problem.

How much are you looking to spend?

With your height restraints you will never get a large enough skimmer for your tank with those skimmers. You might think about getting a recirculating model and plumb it outside the stand, then you could go with and RC octopus, aquaeuro or euro reef. If you want to stay under the stand then look at tunze, aquac and I believe bubble king may even fit.

none of the manufactures that you mentioned above have a short enough skimmer for your tank size

I would look into the ATi Bubblemasters, but do your research before you decide. I would also suggest discussing with a couple of professionals that actually have experience with different skimmers and then come back to the forum and ask others what their experience is with the final few choices.

From the BM info thread, they perform as well as all the high end needlewheel skimmers and their height is around 19"-20" tall.
