Which wins, Sponge or Zoa?

I have a frag with some zoa on it and a sponge as well. It has gotten to the point that they are now touching each other. Which one will win? If its the sponge I have a razor blade ready.

btw, the sponge is pink... actually looks really cool under the actinics.

Let them go and see. I have some zo's overgrowing and on top of sponges and some that the sponge creeps inbetween the polyps.

The second I see the zoa losing the sponge gets it.

Sponge will usually win .

Some sponges will die with exposure to air. You could try that. Zo's can go quite awhile exposed. Maybe expose it and wait a bit and then toothbrush near it. A pretty sponge can look very nice though. I have some lavender colored ones I wish I had a few more of. Maybe I shouldn't say that though as this time next year I may be cussing them out like I did the mushrooms, and the anthelia before that, and the xenia before that, and the razor caulerpa before that, and so on, and so on,,,,,,

I took a huge chunk out of a rock the other day, because I didn't want to know who would win between anthelia and zoa's. So all in all, I won. I beat the anthelia and threw it into the yard.

Dert, I have a rock covered in that... It's just stayed on that one rock in the corner. Now you have me freaked out.

I'll just keep an eye on it.... and curse you every second.

mine spread to several other rocks. i took one out and scrubbed the heck out of it. sponge came back several days later.
