White crust on live rock

I have this crusty white stuff on some of my live rock.
I dont think it is hurting anything, but I am interested in what it is.
It is starting to grow some green/brown/red stuff on it.
I may be able to get a pic if needed.
Thanks.

That could be a sing of low calk within your tank. When the calk levels in my tank dropped below 360 and took a plung into the upper 200's all my purple coraline started turning white. But pics would help to indentify what type of white crust your refering to.

I get white crust lines in my coralline. But that's because of my urchin leaving tracks I think.

I will try to get some pictures today.
My tank is about 2 months old and I havent ever added calcium.
Should I?
I only have a few soft corals.

Is it on the underside or top or both? It could be sponge, coraline bleaching or something else. Pictures would be best.

The white stuff is bleached coralline or just part of the rock itself. I have some of that on the undersides of my live rock where it's been sitting in the sand.

StupidsReef: hello to you too! :)

Nope, there's nothing you can do about it. It'll go away with time and be replaced by purple coralline. How old are your PC bulbs?
