What could these little white dots be, on my glass, some on rocks, somewhat spiral shaped, or little circles. Very small, almost like Ich on fish, but these just showed up on the glass today.
they are perfectly safe. they will really cover dark areas under your rocks and alot will form on the back glass and sides unless you clean them as well. they are filter feeders. alot like feather dusters. give them awile to grow alittle more and then look for the feeding part.
they breed like MAD and contribute to alot of micro plankton. so small you would need a microscope to actualy find the plankton.
give me a few minutes and i will attempt to find their name
Tiny white dots about the size of a pinhead can be found in reef tanks, overflow boxes , and sumps. They are Spirorbid Worms, which are filter feeders. It won't hurt to scrape them off if they obstuct your view, but they are harmless. Reef-safe.
