White dust on glass?

Hello all,
1st time with this problem so I thought I would post it here as it deals with a new tank. I am putting together a 150 gal reef. The tank will be BB and I have a mag 12 for return from the 55 gal sump with two tunze stream 6100s for circ. I filled the tank with water from my RO/DI ( Kent Marine Deluxe MAxxima Hi-s) that indicated 2 ppm tds. After letting the tank run a few days with fresh water to trouble shoot plumbing I started ading salt. Got my salt level up to about 1.026 according to the hrydometer and have been letting it run the last week while building my rack for live rock. Right now there is nothing in the tank besides water. I am also letting my skimmer run (ASM G3) just for kicks. No lights are on. The tank has been crystall clear for the last week. I came in this morning and it look like the water was very cloudy. Turns out there is a thin film on all the glass, pumps, overflows. This "White Powder" if very difficult to remove. The water is still crystal clear, just the film makes it appear cloudy. Any ideas what happend hear or what I should do? Temp is 79, PH is 8.5. I haven't added any chemicals but Instant Ocean salt. Haven't ever seen this happen before.
Thanks!

maybe there was something in your tank before you filled it with water. Did you rinse your tank out before you filled it? Is it a brand new tank, or used? If it is new, there could have been oils and other random "things" inside of it.

Thanks for the replies. The tank had been filled and emptied a couple of times so I am pretty sure it wasn't residue. More than likely it is just the salt as you mentioned. I guess I will just wait for a while and then scrape it off. It does come off with the Mag-float buy it takes a lot of work. thanks for the input!
