I need help with diagnosis.
I have recently treated my 40 br for what I believe to have been a fungus on my clownfish. They had white, milky eyes with some white strandy stuff around their mouths and a few smallish white spots on their bodies. I treated with Pimafix, which I have used before for the same symptoms with success. The clowns look good now. This was a bit under a month ago.
Seemingly overnight my pygmy angel exhibits some of these same symptoms: white, hazy eye (only one) with a white spot; very little in the way of white milky on the body; BUT he has black splotches on his body, some on his dorsal fin; the dorsal and lower fins look "shredded." He is eating, but is otherwise not very active. I just treated again with Pimafix in the recommended dose: 5 mls for every 10 US gallons (Turned off skimmer and carbon filter as recommended).
I *think* this is fungus. It doesn't seem to have the classic look of ich.
Should I consider doing a dip? I don't want to stress him out too much. What else should I consider? Does this sound like a different disease? This is a reef tank.
Thanks.
